Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are back at the center of a major TV appearance following their UK return. However, viewers expecting to hear directly from the Duke and Duchess of Sussex may be surprised. A new documentary examines their move back to Britain and what it could mean for their relationship with the Royal Family. The catch? Harry and Meghan do not appear to have participated in the production themselves.
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry reportedly at the center of new documentary about UK return
According to GB News, IMPACT x Nightline: Harry & Meghan: The Return of the Prince focuses on the couple’s highly publicized UK return.
An official ABC News Studios announcement confirms the special premiered Sept. 24 on Disney+ and Hulu. It also serves as the Season 5 premiere of IMPACT x Nightline.
However, the Meghan Markle Prince Harry documentary does not feature new interviews with the Sussexes. Instead, ABC assembled royal commentators, reporters and experts to examine their move and the possible consequences for the wider Royal Family.
The guest list includes royal commentators Robert Jobson, Victoria Murphy and Omid Scobie, among several other experts.
The special arrives only weeks after Meghan Markle and Prince Harry returned to the UK with their family. Their move followed six years primarily based in California after stepping back from working royal duties in 2020.
The documentary also examines their strained relationship with the Royal Family. In particular, it raises questions about Prince William, Kate Middleton and the possibility of reconciliation.
Earlier reports had separately suggested Harry and Meghan could document parts of their new chapter themselves. However, the new ABC News special is its own production.
So, while the Meghan Markle Prince Harry TV story puts them firmly back on screen, their latest TV appearance comes indirectly. This time, others are telling the story of their UK return.
