Patrick Clancy’s New Wife Wants People to See the Man Behind the Headlines

Patrick Clancy’s new wife, Dr. Rachel Danis, offered a deeply personal defense of her husband ahead of his first major interview since the Lindsay Clancy trial. The infertility specialist described Patrick as a devoted father and supportive partner while pushing back against the public narrative surrounding their relationship.

Danis and Patrick married in April and appeared together for an upcoming 60 Minutes interview. The conversation marked Patrick’s first public comments since Lindsay’s trial ended in a mistrial after jurors failed to reach a unanimous verdict.

Rachel Danis says Patrick Clancy is a “selfless father” and supportive partner

In a preview shared by 60 Minutes, Danis said, “I don’t understand how the story has been so twisted.” She continued, “But I would hope people know that Pat is, as I said before, the most selfless father, and supportive partner.” Danis also addressed how their relationship began. “I was just a girl that met a guy running in Central Park on a really cold Saturday,” she said. “And I don’t think there’s anything wrong with that.”

The couple’s romance unfolded after Patrick endured an unimaginable loss. In January 2023, he returned home to discover Lindsay had strangled their three children: Cora, 5, Dawson, 3, and Callan, 8 months.

According to PEOPLE, Patrick had left the Duxbury, Massachusetts, home to run an errand. He returned to find Lindsay outside, called 911, then discovered the children inside. The tragedy later fueled online conspiracy theories falsely suggesting Patrick played a role. His attorney, Howard Cooper, strongly rejected those claims, calling them “baseless falsehoods” and saying Patrick faced threats to his reputation, livelihood, and life.

Cooper told the outlet that Patrick’s family endured a “relentless, escalating and destructive defamation campaign.” His legal team also said law enforcement had been notified and concluded, “enough is enough.” During the 60 Minutes interview, Patrick spoke about maintaining a connection with his children. He said, “I ask them for help, all the time.”

Meanwhile, Lindsay remained charged with murder after pleading not guilty by reason of lack of criminal responsibility. Her defense argued that postpartum psychosis contributed to the killings. The jury deadlocked 11-1 on the question of criminal responsibility. Prosecutors had not announced whether they would retry Lindsay.
