Lindsay Clancy’s ex-husband, Patrick Clancy, says he still feels connected to his three children, Cora, Dawson, and Callan, even after their deaths. He opened up about that connection in a preview of his upcoming 60 Minutes interview. Patrick shared that he talks to them “all the time” and still asks them for “help.”
Patrick Clancy says he talks to children Cora, Dawson & Callan every day and still asks them for help
Patrick’s comments come weeks after his former wife, Lindsay Clancy, faced trial over the deaths of their three children. Lindsay’s defense did not dispute that she killed Cora, Dawson and Callan, but argued that she was not criminally responsible because she was experiencing postpartum psychosis at the time. The trial ended in a mistrial on Sept. 4 after jurors failed to reach a unanimous verdict. Prosecutors have not yet announced whether they will seek a retrial.
The deaths of Cora, 5, Dawson, 3, and Callan, 8 months, have remained at the center of the case, which has received widespread attention. Patrick also testified during Lindsay’s trial, describing her as a loving and dedicated mother and supporting her defense.
The case has also led to online conspiracy theories accusing Patrick of killing the children and framing Lindsay. Those claims have been described as baseless by CBS and other outlets. Lindsay’s lawyer, Kevin Reddington, has also spoken out against the claims and asked people to stop targeting Patrick.
Patrick has since divorced Lindsay, remarried, and moved from Massachusetts to New York. He testified in Lindsay’s defense during her trial, which ended in a mistrial after the jury could not reach a unanimous decision.
Reddington recently defended Patrick during an interview with CBS Mornings. He said, “I just think that it’s horrific what this man has been going through and he’s entitled to move on with his life.” He added, “And the fact that he’s moved on with his life and still is standing by Lindsay, as far as the legal issues tells the tale.”
Patrick will now share more about his life in his upcoming 60 Minutes interview. In a preview, correspondent Ross Douthat asked Patrick what he says when he talks to his children.
“Help me. All the time,” Patrick replied.
The full interview is scheduled to air Sunday, Sept. 20, at 7 p.m. ET/PT on CBS and Paramount+.
