Kaia Gerber Can’t Escape George Clooney’s Long-Running Prank

Kaia Gerber has revealed that George Clooney has a prank that keeps working on her. The actress described the Hollywood star as an “uncle” figure because of his friendship with her father, Rande Gerber. She told Clooney she has been fooled by one prop over and over again.

Gerber shared the story during an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live on Wednesday. She said a rubber snake “sort of circulated” between them and “got me every single time.” The Shards star said Clooney can keep his pranks going for years. “His pranks will last years,” Gerber said.

Gerber also explained why she has not tried to get revenge on her “Uncle George.” She said she does not have the patience to plan a prank that could take years to work. “He’ll spend years just so that he can get you,” she said. Gerber added, “He’s the busiest man ever, and yet he finds years to spend sort of conducting these very elaborate pranks.”

Clooney’s reputation for pranks also extends to his Hollywood friends and co-stars. His Ocean’s Eleven co-star Matt Damon recently discussed another prank involving Amy Poehler and Tina Fey. Clooney sent Poehler and Fey a “strongly worded letter” on Damon’s behalf after jokes at the 2014 Golden Globes. Damon later found out about the prank when Poehler and Fey sent him fruit baskets to apologize.

Gerber also recalled a more pleasant memory from her childhood when Clooney encouraged her to pursue her acting career. She played Belle in Beauty and the Beast, and Clooney came to watch her perform. Gerber said he sat beside the video camera and laughed throughout the performance. “I was the role of Belle, which I took very seriously,” she said, adding that she had “none” of the “raw talent” her parents hoped to brag about.
