Sharon Stone offered a candid look at her dating life and revealed she had stayed celibate for years. At 68, the Basic Instinct star said she finally wanted something deeper than casual romance.
Stone discussed relationships, heartbreak and companionship while reflecting on her experiences with love. Her latest comments suggested she has stopped chasing romance and is waiting for something meaningful.
Sharon Stone says she has been celibate for quite a while and now wants meaningful love
During Mayim Bialik’s Breakdown podcast, Stone explained that she still considered herself a good partner. However, she had not occupied that role for quite some time. “I’m a really good girlfriend, but I haven’t been a girlfriend in a long time,” Stone told Bialik.
She admitted that her romantic history included both supportive and difficult partners. “I’ve had good luck and bad luck, and no luck at all,” she said. Stone then revealed why she had stepped away from intimacy. “I’ve been celibate for quite a while now,” she told Bialik. She wanted a relationship built around genuine care rather than another fleeting connection.
Her priorities had also changed since her children grew older. “Now that my kids are grown, I want someone that’s my companion, not just someone to have s– with,” Stone said. “I’m kind of bored with that,” she added. Stone said she believed accepting periods without romantic luck could create space for something better.
The actress also revealed that she had never experienced what she considered the great love of her life. “I have had loves in my life, but I don’t think I’ve had the great love of my life, no,” she said. Stone then recalled visiting a psychic when she was 23. The woman had previously worked with Tina Turner and predicted Stone would become a huge star.
The psychic also warned Stone that finding love would take longer. “You’re not gonna meet your person till you’re quite old,” she reportedly told her. She predicted Stone would find that person “almost 70.”
Now 68, Stone appeared to view that prediction differently. She was previously married to Michael Greenburg from 1984 to 1987 and Phil Bronstein from 1998 to 2004. Stone also raised three sons, Roan, 26, Laird, 21, and Quinn, 20. With motherhood entering a different phase, she appears ready to make room for love again.
