Alec Baldwin and Hilaria Baldwin get stumped during their Nation’s Dumbest appearance.
Alec joined Hilaria during Wednesday’s episode of Nation’s Dumbest, as per US Magazine. The actor appeared to help his wife tackle a two-person puzzle. However, their combined efforts did not immediately produce results.
“Alec is very smart, but we are both artistic people,” Hilaria said. “We are not really academics.” She admitted she was unsure whether his appearance would help her succeed.
The couple continued working through the challenge together. However, they eventually became stumped by the puzzle. Whitehall then offered Hilaria the chance to replace Alec.
The host suggested she could “sub him out for another family member.” Hilaria briefly considered the possibility. However, she ultimately kept Alec involved in the challenge.
Alec remained confident about his contribution to the competition. “I passed the CIA test, by the way,” he said. Hilaria then joked about the consequences of bringing him onto the show.
“I bring you in here, and look, I am going to stay another day,” Hilaria responded. The exchange highlighted the playful tension between the couple during the challenge.
Whitehall also joked about the potential impact on their marriage. The host referenced their large family while discussing the competition. “They have had several children,” Whitehall said.
“If we are the thing that breaks their marriage, I don’t want that on my conscience,” he added. His comment brought another layer of humor to their appearance.
Hilaria previously admitted that joining the show made her nervous. She said school had been difficult because she had ADHD and dyslexia. She also recalled feeling ashamed of those struggles at different times.
“Doing a show like this was a little scary for me, to be honest,” Hilaria said. She also admitted that some old school-related emotions returned. “Oh no, all the trauma’s coming back,” she recalled thinking.
Nation’s Dumbest places celebrities through academic and physical challenges. Each episode eliminates contestants until one remains. The final contestant earns the unwanted title of the nation’s dumbest.
