Elliot Page’s Post-‘Odyssey’ Career Frustration Gets More Complicated — Insider

Elliot Page reportedly wanted to take on more acting work after appearing in Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey, but insiders claimed those opportunities had not arrived as expected.

The actor had returned to a major Nolan production years after appearing in Inception. However, sources said that Page’s enthusiasm for acting had not translated into a larger number of offers.

Sources say Elliot’s career ambitions haven’t translated into more roles

One insider told Radar Online that Page still felt motivated about acting and wanted to keep building his career.

“Elliot isn’t talking like somebody whose enthusiasm for acting has disappeared. It’s the opposite – he feels more comfortable, focused and ambitious, but the volume of opportunities hasn’t caught up with where he believes he is creatively.”

The source added, “That’s what makes the situation particularly frustrating.”

Another insider pointed to Elliot Page’s role in Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey and said they had expected the film to generate more interest from Hollywood.

“Elliot has just appeared in one of the biggest movies imaginable for one of the industry’s most powerful directors, so you might expect scripts and offers to be pouring through the door,” the source said.

However, the insider claimed that Page had not seen that level of activity.

“The reality has been very different. He is in this frustrating position where he feels creatively stronger than ever but is still waiting for Hollywood to recognize that,” they added.

The source reports did not identify specific roles that Page had lost or studios that had passed on him.

The Odyssey marked Page’s second movie with Nolan. He previously played Ariadne in 2010’s Inception.

Page later reflected on that earlier experience during the On Film…With Kevin McCarthy podcast. He said he enjoyed working with Nolan but struggled personally at the time.

“When you do ask me about Ariadne (in Inception), I had such a great time being in that movie, I had such a great time working with Chris, but I was also personally really uncomfortable,” Page said.

Page came out as transgender in 2020.

The insiders suggested that Page remained focused on acting despite the reported Hollywood opportunities falling short of his expectations. Still, their comments represented anonymous assessments rather than statements from Page himself about his current career prospects.
