Lizzo, the Grammy-winning singer behind hits like “About Damn Time,” has scored a major legal victory. A federal judge in California ruled in favor of her touring company, Big Grrrl Big Touring, in a lawsuit brought by former tour employee Asha Daniels.

According to TMZ, the judge has dismissed the remaining claims against Lizzo’s touring company and the other defendants.
Daniels, who worked on Lizzo’s 2023 “The Special Tour,” sued the singer and her touring company, alleging sexual and racial harassment. However, the claims against the 38-year-old singer, rapper, songwriter and flutist personally were dismissed in 2024.
Now, a federal judge has thrown out what remained of Daniels’ case against the touring company and other defendants.
Following the ruling, Lizzo’s attorney, Melissa Glass, celebrated the decision and described it as a major win for her clients. In her words, “The court’s ruling today granting summary judgment is a total victory for Lizzo, her touring company, and the other defendants named in Asha Daniels’ ludicrous lawsuit.”
She also remarked, “There was never any basis for Ms. Daniels to sue Lizzo, her touring company, her tour manager, or her wardrobe manager.”
Glass added, “Indeed, the case against Lizzo was thrown out in December 2024. We are exploring all avenues to enforce our clients’ rights after this major win.”
Daniels had alleged that she was made to work extremely long hours and was exposed to racist and fatphobic comments from members of Lizzo’s team.
At the time, the singer strongly rejected the allegations. She said, “My character has been criticized.” Lizzo added that she usually chose not to respond to false allegations but felt the claims were too outrageous not to address.
