Kanye West has reportedly turned on his former publicist Milo Yiannopoulos after his ICE deportation. The rapper no longer trusts the publicist, leading him to cut ties with the publicist. The reported fallout news came amid renewed scrutiny over Yiannopoulos’s immigration status.
Sources say Kanye no longer wants Milo Yiannopoulos involved in his inner circle
Ye’s former publicist Milo Yiannopoulos faced ICE deportation proceedings last week. According to the Daily Mail, the rapper no longer wants to associate with Yiannopoulos.
The source said, “He does not want to be involved with Milo anymore. He asked Milo to move out of one of his properties and hasn’t been involved with him.”
However, the reported fallout is not new; the publicist has reportedly been out of Ye’s trusted circle. The source added, “Milo has not been trusted within Ye’s orbit for a long time and has only caused issues. Ye had been warned about Milo many times. Milo told everyone in Ye’s orbit that he had a visa and was in the process of getting married and becoming a US citizen. Everyone was shocked to find out he, in fact, did not have a visa.”
Milo Yiannopoulos started working for the rapper in 2002, handled public requests, and also served as his chief of staff. He reportedly lied to Ye many times during his time working for the rapper. Yiannopoulos was also in charge of helping international artists with visa work involving the rapper’s fashion brand.
“Milo was never Ye’s official PR team. Ye does not have any single PR team; he will speak for himself or give people permission to speak when needed. It was a title that Milo gave himself,” an insider claimed.
The rapper has reportedly asked his team to go through the work done by Yiannopoulos to ensure everything was legal. Yiannopoulos, who allegedly overstayed in the U.S., was arrested at New Orleans Airport on Thursday.
Ye had a show scheduled at Caesars Superdome; the rapper reportedly had no idea Yiannopoulos was planning to attend the concert.
