Ed Sheeran‘s latest Detroit gig took a serious turn after an accident injured six crew members as workers were dismantling the stage. Heavy machinery reportedly went out of control, leading to an accident after the concert.

Ed Sheeran’s concert took place at Detroit’s Ford Field on Saturday. After the concert ended, crew members were dismantling the stage.
During the process, six crew members were injured after heavy machinery reportedly lost control near a vehicle tunnel. According to Metro, none of the workers suffered life-threatening injuries. However, one crew member spent a night in the hospital.
The 911 dispatch calls revealed that emergency services responded after a “forklift injury accident” was reported.
One of the workers reportedly said the crew was going to take a break when the incident occurred. They were walking toward the tunnel ramp when equipment reportedly lost control and struck them.
Ford Field Stadium confirmed that one of the injured workers was part of its team. A spokesperson said, “Ford Field has begun a full review and is cooperating with the appropriate authorities and with the event’s production partners. Out of respect for the people involved and the integrity of that review, we will not speculate on the cause. We are grateful to the Detroit Fire Department and EMS for their rapid response.”
The accident occurred after the singer had finished performing and the crew was wrapping up. Emergency services arrived at the scene to treat the injured crew members.
The concert took place in front of 40,000 fans. The “Shape of You” singer performed on a setup that included the main stage and a smaller B-stage connected by an extendable mechanical bridge. The singer is currently on the global Loop Tour, performing across North America in 2026 before starting the tour in Latin America. Ed Sheeran has not made any public comment regarding the incident.
