In a television appearance, the actress insisted that reports of her stepping away from Hollywood were blown out of proportion.

Speaking on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon”, Pfeiffer dismissed any speculation around her retirement. “No… I mean, it’s the most ridiculous thing,” she said, according to Entertainment Weekly.
The confusion stemmed from Pfeiffer’s comments at The Hollywood Reporter and Apple TV’s Leading the Narrative: The Women of Apple TV event. “I never want to star in another movie, I swear to God,” Pfeiffer had said, adding, “I only want to do ensemble pieces. It’s so much more fun, I love it so much.”
The comments quickly spread rumors about Pfeiffer’s Hollywood retirement. However, the actress told Fallon that she is indeed looking to star in a new film. “Of course, I want to star in another movie,” she said, dismissing any misunderstandings in this matter.
Meanwhile, Pfeiffer is enjoying a good run in television. She recently starred in The Madison and Margo’s Got Money Troubles. The role has earned her an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series.
The actress has previously explained why she found television appealing. She said that she enjoys spending time with a character and collaborating with a larger ensemble cast.
“It’s wonderful to be able to live with a character for such an extended period of time and you can really just go deeper and find all of the different layers,” she said, adding, “But it’s also really wonderful and most important to me that I get to work with all of this talent.”
