Taylor Sheridan opened up about a difficult phase of his life when he was struggling to enter Hollywood. The Yellowstone creator revealed that he was “homeless twice” and chose to live in his car rather than give up on his dreams.

Taylor Sheridan, who was trying to make his way as an actor in Hollywood, opened up about his early struggles. During his new profile for Town & Country published this week, he recalled being homeless twice.
He said, “I was homeless twice; I lived in my car. Sometimes I’d go to Ojai, just somewhere where I could safely sleep. I did that for six months.”
He recalled sleeping in his car for six months while pursuing his acting career.
Sheridan viewed the situation as a choice between pursuing his dreams and taking a job. He added, “I could have decided at any point, ‘I’m going to go get a full-time job, and I’m going to give up this dream.’ And I chose to sleep in my car over that.”
He sometimes drove to Ojai, California, because he felt safe sleeping in his car there.
He found success after three seasons of Sons of Anarchy and shifted his focus to writing. His breakthrough screenplay came with Hell or High Water in 2016, which helped establish him as a writer.
He recalled buying a small house in Wyoming after he sold his screenplay.
He said, “When I sold that first screenplay, I bought a little house on an acre on a river in Wyoming. We moved there, and I wrote a check for it. Then, as I would start to have more success, I would buy a little bit more land beside it and get a couple horses. I’m still so averse to having to ever owe anybody anything.”
Sheridan is best known as the co-creator of the hit drama series Yellowstone.
From sleeping in a car to finding success in Hollywood, Sheridan’s story reflects his determination to pursue his career despite his early struggles.
