Andy Cohen put Luke Broderick on the spot during The Valley reunion after revealing a private request involving Kristen Doute. The exchange quickly turned emotional. Kristen fought back tears as Luke explained why he wanted some space from his fiancée and their daughter.

During Part 2 of The Valley Season 3 reunion, Cohen said Luke had told WWHL producers that he would only appear if Kristen was not involved. Cohen added that Luke had said he needed a break.
Kristen then shared what she said Luke told her about the trip. She said he wanted to have dinner and enjoy New York, but felt he could not do that if she and their 1-year-old daughter, Kaia, came along.
Luke gave a different explanation. He said Kristen had told him she planned to stay in the hotel room during the short visit. He also worried about taking Kaia across three time zones for less than 48 hours and then dealing with her sleep schedule after they returned home.
“Sometimes we need space,” Luke said. He added that bringing Kaia on the quick trip did not seem like a good idea. The conversation left Kristen wiping tears from her eyes. Their castmates also told Luke that his words had clearly hurt her. Luke then apologized and said he had not understood how deeply the comment affected her.
The WWHL dispute comes after a difficult season for the couple. Luke has faced criticism over several comments about Kristen during pregnancy and postpartum life. Teddi Mellencamp also questioned some of his remarks earlier this season.
Kristen and Luke have been open about trying couples therapy as they adjust to parenthood. At the reunion, Kristen said therapy had been paused because they were not resolving enough during sessions. Despite the tension, the pair said things have improved. Luke admitted he was not the best version of himself while filming, while Kristen spoke about dealing with postpartum depression and rage.
