Karamo Brown’s Queer Eye Revelation Sparks Response From Tan France

Tan France continues to hold a positive view of his time in “Queer Eye” after former costar Karamo Brown claimed that it was a toxic environment.

The fashion expert said that he felt sad that the series was a bad experience for Brown. For him, it was a dream come true.

Tan France reflected on his positive memories of Queer Eye following Brown’s workplace claims

France pushed back against Brown’s version of Queer Eye experience. He said that though he was sad for Brown, the show was “a dream” for him. France opened up on “Today With Jenna & Sheinelle” about Brown’s negative feelings around “Queer Eye”.

“First of all, I’m sad that was the experience that he felt like it was a nightmare, as I said it was a dream for me,” France told the hosts. He added, “I couldn’t believe it. And so for me, I look back thinking, gosh, we did what I think was incredible work and had a phenomenal experience.”

In a People cover story, Brown had alleged that he suffered “years of toxicity with several of his Fab Five costars”. He also mentioned “bullying and unchecked bad behavior by executives and members of production.” The culture expert also claimed that he had relapsed during the show’s third season in 2018. Reportedly, Brown said he relapsed during Season 3 after 12 years of sobriety.

Brown did not appear with his five co-stars to promote the show’s final season in January. He let the public know that he was protecting his mental health “from people or a world who seek to destroy it.” When questioned about the issue, former Queer Eye co-star and hairdresser Van Ness praised Brown’s courage to put himself first. He also said that he was “actually really proud of him.”

Queer Eye was Netflix’s Emmy-winning makeover reality series that followed the “Fab Five” as they helped people transform different aspects of their lives, from fashion and grooming to culture, food and home design.
