Nathan Griffith is officially out of a Nevada prison after serving 14 months, marking his return to the public eye following his legal battles. The Teen Mom 2 star walked out of the Southern Desert Correctional Center in Nevada on Thursday, July 24. He was sentenced for a domestic violence strangulation case.
Nathan Griffith completed 14 months in prison before his release from a Nevada facility
The 38-year-old was released from prison this week after officially serving 14 months behind bars out of an up to four-year sentence, reported The U.S. SUN.
Griffith pleaded guilty last year to a felony charge of battery constituting domestic violence by strangulation. He allegedly assaulted his then-girlfriend Anastasia Biddle in April 2025.
At sentencing, the judge told Griffith directly, “You are a danger to others, and you’re going to kill someone.”
This was his second case of strangulation in two years. Earlier, he was arrested in 2023 for allegedly strangling his sister, Heather, in a brutal attack. Heather said in an interview, “I don’t want to see my brother in jail for murder. That’s the reason why I did this. You can break a chick’s hyoid, and if you do, you’re going to kill her. That’s what you are doing when you strangle somebody with your hands like that.”
State officials granted Griffith parole in May with a target release date of July 16. While his mandatory release date fell on November 6, he walked out roughly a week after his first eligibility window opened. He will complete up to 24 months of parole supervision.
After serving just over a year behind bars, Griffith now expects to reunite with his wife, May Oyola, who stood by him throughout his incarceration. She even spoke on his behalf during his April parole hearing. He shares 10-year-old son Kaiser with ex-fiancée Jenelle Evans, along with an estranged daughter, Emery, from a previous relationship.
When he was sentenced in May 2025, Nathan was given up to four years in prison, but was told he had to serve at least 14 months, so he served the bare minimum.
