According to RadarOnline, the Hollywood A-lister is now keen on scoring a British girlfriend as well as deepening ties with the royal family. He has reportedly asked former England soccer captain David Beckham and his wife, Victoria Beckham, for help with his romantic and social life.
Cruise was effusive in his praise for Beckham, 51, who was recently awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, saying that the soccer legend “inspired generations around the world to watch and play the game.”
A source has said that Cruise is “a rabid anglophile” and would love to deepen his associations with the country, “by finding a leading English lady.” The insider has also revealed that the actor has personally been on this mission, but luck has failed him in that regard. The source adds that the reason might be his “picky” nature.
Apart from a British love interest, Cruise is also eager to forge a strong relationship with the royal family as he “doesn’t have the opportunity to rub shoulders with the blue-blood types as often as he’d like.”
The actor has also enlisted the favour of former Spice Girl, Victoria Beckham, to find his British romantic interest. Victoria, who reportedly cannot handle too much of the “intense” actor, has noted down his requirements.
A source describes Cruise’s likings, saying, “The ideal candidate must come from good stock, be in her late 20s or early 30s and have ties to the royals, as he’s determined to keep building on his friendship with Prince William and his wife, Kate [Middleton].”
Cruise has had a busy romantic life, with high-profile marriages to Mimi Rogers, Nicole Kidman, and Katie Holmes. After his divorce from Holmes in 2012, he has kept his personal life away from the cameras.
