Cruz Beckham sent Spice Girls fans into reunion mode after sharing a photo of Victoria Beckham recording music in a studio. However, his mother soon delivered a reality check about her musical future, leaving fans with little hope for a comeback.
The 21-year-old musician posted the selfie last month, showing Victoria behind the microphone. His cheeky caption, “yeah we got posh back in the studio ;),” sparked excitement and fresh calls for the group to reunite.
Cruz Beckham’s recording studio photo fueled speculation about his mother’s return
During an appearance on Today with Jenna & Sheinelle, Victoria explained why she joined her son in the studio. The fashion designer said Cruz asked her to record backing vocals, and she simply couldn’t refuse him. “I mean, I just can’t say no to Cruz. I just can’t say no,” she told Jenna Bush Hager and Sheinelle Jones. Victoria added that she participated for fun but doubted the song would ever come out. She described the session as a mother supporting her 21-year-old son.
Fans, meanwhile, had bigger plans for the recording session. One commenter urged Cruz to get his mother touring with the Spice Girls, calling him their “only hope.” Another asked him to convince Victoria to join a reunion. A third suggested she might refuse the world but agree for her son.
Unfortunately for those hoping for Wannabe nostalgia, Victoria made her position clear during the interview. “There’s no new music. There’s no more Spice Girls,” she said. She added, “I’ve passed that baton over to Cruz. I’m so proud of him and how well he’s doing.”
Cruz had toured in the United States and London, and Victoria believed his moment had arrived. She stressed that the studio appearance was “just a little bit of fun between me and him, nothing more.” Still, she couldn’t resist a playful boast about her vocals: “I’ve still got it!”
The Spice Girls last reunited in 2019, but Victoria didn’t join that tour. Her latest comments offered little indication that another reunion would happen soon. For now, she seemed content cheering on Cruz as he built his own musical career.
