Kendra Wilkinson wants to leave behind the persona that made her famous. The 41-year-old model-turned-realtor, who was once known for her relationship with the late Hugh Hefner, said she is “not Playboy anymore.”
Kendra Wilkinson says she has embraced aging and no longer feels the need to maintain her Playboy image
The Playboy veteran took to Instagram Stories on July 8 to share her thoughts, writing, “I’m ok aging. I’m ok not being young Kendra anymore. I’m not a playboy anymore. I’m not trying to be sexy. Dating and men aren’t on the [forefront] of my mind. Looking exactly how I want and loving myself exactly how I am is where I’m at. Finding gratitude and my peace every day is my objective,” states AOL.
According to DailyMail, the mother of two first gained fame as one of Hugh Hefner’s three girlfriends on the hit reality show The Girls Next Door, which offered an inside look at life in the mansion and gave her international recognition. Wilkinson moved into the Playboy Mansion at 18, where she lived alongside Hefner, Holly Madison, and Bridget Marquardt. She and Hefner had a 60-year age difference.
After stepping away from the spotlight, Wilkinson built a career in real estate while raising her two children, son Hank Randall IV, 14, and daughter Alijah Mary, 12, whom she shares with ex-husband Hank Baskett III. However, this is not the first time Wilkinson has used her platform to advocate for self-acceptance.
In a March 11 Instagram post, Wilkinson opened up about embracing her changing body and age. She wrote that she wondered how much “hate and bullying” she would receive, but said she wanted to share the post and feel proud of herself. She added that she had overcome a lot in life, deserved to celebrate herself, and felt increasingly liberated as she moved beyond her Playboy days.
