Why Royal Cousins Won’t Be Part of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Children’s UK Visit — Source

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s upcoming trip to the United Kingdom could bring Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet back into the royal fold for the first time in years. However, according to royal commentators, a reunion with their cousins, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, is unlikely to be on the agenda.

The Sussex family is expected to travel to the UK next month, marking Archie and Lilibet’s first visit since 2022. While the trip could reportedly include time with King Charles, experts say the ongoing tensions between Prince Harry and Prince William make a cousin reunion difficult to arrange.

Why Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet are unlikely to see their royal cousins during their UK trip

Royal commentator Amanda Matta told Page Six that there is currently “no indication” that Archie and Lilibet will spend time with the Wales children during the visit.

“Even if relations are gradually improving, the Wales household likely has a full schedule already in place for the summer, and any reunion involving the cousins would require tons of planning and goodwill from all parties involved,” Matta explained.

According to the Off With Their Heads podcast host, the biggest obstacle remains the strained relationship between Harry and William, as well as the dynamics involving their wives.

“The tensions between the brothers and their wives could be the biggest hurdle,” Matta noted, adding that the situation becomes even more complicated, particularly if Catherine were to be involved in any potential plans.”

Royal reporter Emily Nash echoed a similar view, telling Page Six that it is “far too soon to say” whether the cousins will reunite. While she acknowledged that the children could theoretically attend the same family gathering, she does not expect it to happen during this trip.

“Given the very fractious nature of the relationship between William and Harry, I don’t see them rushing to spend time together just because Harry’s back in the UK,” Nash said.

Still, Nash believes both brothers would ultimately want their children to know one another. “In any family, you would hope that cousins would have a chance to spend time together and grow up together, and I’m sure they don’t feel any differently,” she explained.

For now, the focus appears to be on Harry’s efforts to reconnect with King Charles. Reports suggest the monarch is hopeful about seeing Archie and Lilibet again, having not spent meaningful time with his youngest grandchildren since Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations in 2022.
