Meghan Markle’s ‘Contrived’ Birthday Message Gets an Unflattering Theory — Experts

Meghan Markle celebrated her 45th birthday with playful social media posts. The “Suits” alum took to Instagram to share some wonderful photos of herself that conveyed a sense of warmth and joy. However, not everyone loved the lighthearted videos. Royal experts quickly weighed in and claimed the Duchess of Sussex’s latest content felt “very very contrived.”

Experts analyze Meghan Markle’s birthday post as ‘very very contrived’

To mark her birthday, Meghan Markle shared an Instagram clip of herself dancing around her kitchen in pajamas and a tiara. Prince Harry could be heard laughing in the background as she disappeared behind a cluster of balloons. She also thanked fans for their birthday wishes and posted photos of herself jumping into a swimming pool.

The birthday celebration did not stop there. Markle also uploaded a video on her “As Ever” account showing how she makes her favorite ice cream sundae using vanilla ice cream, raspberry spread, shortbread, and colorful sprinkles.

The videos became a talking point during an episode of “Royal Exclusive“. Royal journalist Phil Dampier and former Queen Elizabeth II press secretary Ailsa Anderson discussed the posts with host Matt Wilkinson.

Wilkinson pointed to Harry’s reaction in the kitchen video. The prince could be heard saying, “Oh dear,” as the Duchess of Sussex danced around. Wilkinson jokingly asked whether Harry was speaking for everyone watching.

Dampier responded by questioning the authenticity of the videos.

“They’re always a bit contrived, aren’t they?” he said.

“When you see these pictures of hers, they’re always very, very contrived. You’re always very controlled.”

He added that he was unsure what message Markle wanted to send, suggesting she may have wanted to appear carefree and relaxed.

Anderson also shared her thoughts on Meghan Markle’s birthday sundae. She admitted the dessert did not appeal to her and joked that it would make her “want to vomit.”

The panel also discussed her public image. Wilkinson noted that her life now seems firmly based in the United States, while Harry continues spending more time in the United Kingdom. Dampier said he remained surprised that Meghan Markle recently traveled to Britain with Harry and their children. He also claimed he did not believe she enjoyed strong public support in the UK.

The birthday posts arrived only days after the Sussex family returned from a European vacation.
