Rumer Willis’ Ex Fires Back at Demi Moore’s Legal Claims; Says Family Launched ‘Media Attack’ Against Him

The custody battle between Rumer Willis and her ex-partner, Derek Richard Thomas, took another dramatic turn after new court filings challenged claims made by both Rumer and her mother, Demi Moore. The latest legal response saw Derek push back against allegations about his parenting while raising concerns of his own regarding the couple’s three-year-old daughter, Louetta.

What began as a private family dispute has increasingly played out through court documents, with accusations now flying from both sides. Derek’s latest filing reportedly painted a very different picture from the one previously described by Rumer and Demi.

As per TMZ, Demi had alleged in court filings that Derek appeared controlling and lacked concern for both Rumer and their daughter. However, Derek reportedly denied those accusations outright in his new response.

According to the filing, Derek claimed he had never behaved aggressively or inappropriately toward Rumer. He further alleged that Rumer had launched what he described as a coordinated media campaign against him while their custody dispute continued.

One of his more surprising claims involved Louetta’s presence on social media. Derek reportedly argued that Rumer had featured their daughter in sponsored content containing adult-themed humor and claimed he never consented to such use of their child.

The musician also disputed allegations regarding financial support and substance abuse. Derek reportedly told the court he was willing to pay reasonable child support based on his average monthly income of approximately $2,350. He additionally denied claims suggesting he was using drugs.

Meanwhile, Derek maintained that he had remained actively involved in Louetta’s life. According to his filing, he had FaceTimed his daughter daily for more than a year and repeatedly attempted to arrange in-person visits. Those efforts, he alleged, were often complicated by changing conditions surrounding visitation.

He also claimed that Louetta’s move to Idaho following the Los Angeles wildfires was initially presented as temporary before residency issues reportedly entered the picture.
