The United States President Donald Trump recently claimed that a “male model” said “I Love You” to him. After learning who the “model” really was, the president had a lot of praise for him. The “model” in question is a popular NFL athlete whose recent actions have sparked a wave of online backlash. This includes remarks from his own team.
Donald Trump calls Jaxson Dart ‘handsome’
During a Fox News interview with his daughter-in-law, Lara Trump, Donald Trump recalled his interaction with a “male model,” who was actually Jaxson Dart, New York Giants’ quarterback.
“I wish I looked just like Jaxson Dart,” the president said. “Is he a male model or what? He is a handsome, beautiful, and conservative guy. He said, ‘I love you, sir,’” Trump recalled.
The Republican leader’s comments come just a few days after the NFL star introduced him at a New York rally last month. During the interview, Trump said that he didn’t know who Dart was at the time, but after learning more, he had high praise for the athlete.
“He’s potentially a great quarterback,” Trump continued. “He’s a young boy who has just started. But when he is in a game, he moves the team. I didn’t know him, but I watched him a little bit, and he really moves the team. He’s got tremendous potential,” Trump added.
Meanwhile, Dart’s support for the president sparked a wave of backlash online and even from his own teammates.
Giant’s linebacker Abdul Carter addressed his disappointment about his teammate in a recent press meet. He said that he doesn’t expect Dart to apologize for what he did. But he hoped that their opposing views wouldn’t create a problem between them.
“Some things are bigger than football, and this is one of them,” Carter continued. “Jaxson is one of our leaders. He’s the face of our franchise. He not only represents himself in what he does, but he also represents all of us. And that goes for anybody who wears a Giants uniform,” he added.
However, Carter said that if Jaxson chose to align himself with President Trump, it was his responsibility to show both his teammates and the world that he opposed it. He further clarified that this did not mean they had to spread hate. Carter emphasized that they would continue working together as teammates and said he wanted to move past the conflict.
Amid all the backlash, Trump took to Truth Social to show his support for Jaxson Dart. He acknowledged all the criticism Dart is facing. However, he said the remarks are from “the Radical Left Lunatics who are jealous of you, me, and everyone who surrounds us.”
