Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi says anyone named in the Jeffrey Epstein files should face questions, including President Donald Trump. Pelosi spoke on the red carpet at the Vanity Fair Oscar Party, where she addressed the broader push to hear from figures associated with Epstein, the late financier and convicted sex offender. She brought up notable names during her interview, including Donald Trump’s.
Nancy Pelosi demands ‘answers’ from Donald Trump over Jeffrey Epstein connections
The New York Times reported that Nancy Pelosi demands that everyone, including Donald Trump, answer questions about their connection to Jeffrey Epstein. She said, “My understanding from the committee and my knowledge of the Congress is that we have promised the survivors that we would hear from everyone,” asserting, “so that really means everyone.”
Then, Pelosi stated that she believes the list of people who should respond includes the current U.S. President. After mentioning ex-Prince Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, she said, “I don’t know what the regulations are from one country to another. But I think that many people who have been named, including the president of the United States, owe us answers so that we can be a comfort to the survivors and have some justice.”
Pelosi joined calls for ex-Prince Andrew to testify to Congress over his ties to Epstein. The Times noted that Democrats on the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee had previously written to Andrew asking him to provide information, and said he has ignored the request. However, it pointed out that Congress cannot compel foreign nationals to appear.
The Epstein files themselves remain a major point of public interest, with millions of documents released by the U.S. Justice Department, and the topic even made it into the Oscars broadcast. Host Conan O’Brien referenced the files during his opening monologue. He later told The Times, “We decide what we want to do and then we just go for it.”
Nancy Pelosi asked for accountability from Donald Trump and others regarding their link to the Jeffrey Epstein files. Additionally, she demanded answers from everyone who appeared in the narrative, no matter how powerful they were.
