Kate Hudson says letting go of attachment helps find more peace in life

Kate Hudson has her own way of finding peace. It’s not easy; she makes sure to practice it regularly to stay joyful. The “Gonna Find Out” hitmaker shared with PEOPLE the method she follows to find peace in life. She talked about a great quote that she loves and abides by: “Contentment is a discipline.” She further mentioned that the things that help her find peace don’t come easily. However, these are the things that eventually become an integral part of one’s lifestyle and turn into one’s chosen way of living.

Talking about peace, the actor said that for her, feeling at peace means “feeling liberated.” According to her it happens when one has “less attachments to things and expectations of things.” The 46-year-old continued, “Once you let go of your attachment and expectations that things are supposed to be a certain way, you can find much more peace in your life.” She also spoke in detail about attachments, as she called them “hard.”

“We’re all so attached to the things, and we’re all inundated with the way things are supposed to be or what they’re supposed to look like. You actually have to actively work at detaching yourself from those things… It’s not an easy thing to do,” she explained.

Hudson also spoke about the power of meditation, saying, “Some people think it’s woo-woo, but actually, you start out [with] Buddhism, like actually meditating and actually taking time for yourself and tuning into yourself, what really, really matters is daily.” The “Raising Helen” star added, “Daily is so important. It’s so important because everything can be so convoluted. There’s so much going on. It can feel incredibly overwhelming in this world right now.” The actor emphasised that staying consistent with meditation helps her remain grounded amid life’s constant noise.
