Diego Costa Trips Up Team-mate Casillas in Latest Aggressive Outburst

Diego Costa has continued solidifying his position as the least sportsmanlike player in the Premier League, tripping up his Champions League rival and Spanish team-mate Iker Casillas in Chelsea’s Champions League match against Porto.

The incident occurred in the first half of the match, with Costa clearly sticking out his foot in order to trip Casillas after the goalkeeper had caught the ball and prevented a potential Chelsea attack. Words when then exchanged between the two Spain national squad players, with Casillas looking to square up to the striker before referee Cüneyt Çakir interrupted their confrontation.

Costa received a yellow card for the foul. Watch the incident below:

Diego Costa has been involved in numerous incidents on the pitch since moving to Chelsea, including a clash with Liverpool’s Martin Skrtel in October in which he kicked the defender in the chest. Costa escaped punishment for his actions, with the FA stating that they had chosen not to investigate video evidence of the incident, despite that footage having circulated online and clearly depicting Costa lashing out at Skrtel.
