Paramore and Queens of the Stone Age Named as Reading & Leeds 2014 Headliners

Paramore and Queens of the Stone Age have been named as the headliners of Reading & Leeds 2014.

The festival with be both bands’ only UK festival appearances this year, as they join the previously announced headliners Arctic Monkeys and Blink 182.

Paramore and QOTSA will be joint headliners at the festival, sharing their slots at both Reading and Leeds. Organiser Melvin Benn has said that he hasn’t worked out “the details” of both bands’ performance schedules, though he said that they were excited to be headlining with each other. “When I told them we have two sites and they could essentially swap who goes on last each date, they loved the idea”, Benn said to NME.

QOTSA’s Dean Fertita said that the joint headline slot would push both bands to up their game, saying: “I think everybody’s competitive to a degree. It’s good competition. To have another band you can watch that inspires you to play even better just to try and one-up them is a good thing! It’s great for the audience and great for everybody.” 

Tickets for Reading & Leeds 2014, which takes place at both sites between 21st – 23rd August, are on sale now.
