Sean Faris Joins ‘Supernatural’ Spinoff

After nearly a decade on the air, “Supernatural” may finally have a spinoff series next fall. And another familiar face has been added to the main cast.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Sean Faris is the latest addition to “Supernatural: Tribes,” the long rumored spinoff that takes place in Chicago against the backdrop of warring factions of monsters who control the city.Faris will portray Julian Durant, a werewolf from a wealthy family of lycanthropes who have a grudge against the Haydens, a powerful family made up of shapeshifters.

Nathaniel Buzolic (“The Vampire Diaries”) was previously cast as David Hayden, a shapeshifter who rejected his monstrous side to live as a  human. Lucien Laviscount (“Episodes”) is also in the cast as Ennis Roth, a police trainee who becomes a monster hunter in the wake of his fiancee’s death.

Prior to “Supernatural: Tribes,” Faris had a recurring role in “Pretty Little Liars” and “The Vampire Diaries” in addition to starring turns in “Reunion” and “Life As We Know It.”

Rather than get a traditional stand alone pilot, “Supernatural: Tribes” will make its debut as a backdoor pilot episode of “Supernatural” that is slated to air on April 29. “Supernatural” veteran Andrew Dabb wrote the episode that will introduce the new characters from the spinoff and he will executive produce “Supernatural: Tribes” alongside Robert Singer, Jeremy Carver and McG.
