MLB 14: The Show PS4 is 1080p with 60FPS, Looks Ridiculously Good

Typically, sports games aren’t a good showcase for hardware. Their yearly release equates to little work being done in the visual department. MLB 14: The Show is different, though.

In the case of MLB 14: The Show‘s PS4 version, Sony has confirmed that it will run at 1080p with a locked framerate of 60 FPS. Previously, that was impossible to achieve with last-generation hardware.

What makes the 1080p / 60 FPS achievement particularly impressive is just how detailed the game looks. As seen in the gameplay images below, SCE San Diego Studio has heavily invested itself to make every stadium and player appear as authentic as possible. Mike Napoli’s beard looks just as epic as in real life, and you might just find yourself staring at the grass. It looks so good you’ll want to roll around in it.

MLB 14: The Show will launch on April 1st for the PS3 and Vita, while the gorgeous PS4 version will arrive in May.
