Amy Winehouse’s Father Says No to Hollywood Biopic

Amy Winehouse’s father Mitch Winehouse has ruled out the possibility of a Hollywood biopic of his daughter’s troubled life.

There have been multiple rumours circulating regarding allegedly planned biopic, with it being said that Lady Gaga had put herself forward for the lead role, but Mitch has denied that the film is in the pipeline.

Speaking to Digital Spy, he said:”I don’t really want to do a biopic, but there’s a documentary film from the same people who did Senna coming out next year.”

Mitch is referring to the documentary directed by Asif Kapadia, the director of Senna, which was announced in April of this year. He also spoke of a potential memorial gig in honour of Amy Winehouse’s short life, saying. “A concert would be amazing, but it’s actually getting it together with the [record label]. It sounds great in theory, but in practice it’s not so easy. We are talking about it though.”
