Slipknot’s Corey Taylor Robbed, Late Bassist’s Guitars Among Stolen Items

Over $36,000 worth of musical equipment, some of it possessing great personal meaning, has been stolen from the Iowa home of Slipknot and Stone Sour frontman Corey Taylor.

According to the Des Moines Register, two guitars that had belonged to the band’s late bassist Paul Gray were among the items stolen. Gray died in 2010.

Taylor reportedly told police that someone he knows stole the gear when he was on a month-long tour of Europe with his wife, and they discovered the loss upon their return last weekend. Some of the equipment is said to have been recovered, but no arrests have been made yet.

In further Slipknot news, it’s possible that the band will resume their creative output in the studio, which has been stagnant since the band’s last album All Hope Is Gone was released in 2008. Since Gray’s death, the future of the band has been uncertain – though during the band’s appearance at the Download Festival in June, Taylor told the crowd: “Don’t be surprised if you see us again real soon,” promising that fans could “look forward to special fucking things in the future.”

Taylor also spoke about the death of Gray that night, telling the crowd: “We were last on this stage four years ago. This band has been through a lot in those four years. Because of the respect for each other, we’ve kept going, we’ve kept going for us, we’ve kept going for you and we’ve kept going for him.”
