Kim Kardashian is giving Ryan Murphy credit for surrounding her with some serious acting talent on All’s Fair. She believes the casting helped set her up for success. The reality star also admitted her accomplished All’s Fair co-stars gave her room to “hide behind” their talent if she needed it.

Kardashian discussed Murphy’s casting choices during a Nov. 5 appearance on The View, around the 2:57 mark. She appeared alongside Naomi Watts and Niecy Nash-Betts to promote Season 2.
Kim said she believes Murphy intentionally surrounded her with “the best of the best actors” so she could learn from them. She then joked that she could “hide behind if I needed to because they are so amazing.”
However, Watts quickly rejected that idea.
“You did not hide, girl!” she told Kim. Watts said she watched Kardashian grow considerably between her first day on set and the end of Season 2.
Meanwhile, Nash-Betts also praised her co-star’s progress. “You brought your A game, baby,” she said.
The ensemble also includes Sarah Paulson, Glenn Close and Teyana Taylor. Working with that group gave Kardashian plenty of experienced performers to learn from as she took on one of her biggest scripted roles.
Her co-stars have praised that effort before. Paulson previously said Kardashian came to set prepared, knew her lines and remained eager to learn while filming the first season. She also praised Kim’s sense of humor and said the two quickly connected while working together.
Still, All’s Fair faced harsh reviews when Season 1 debuted. Kardashian later joked about the backlash, while her co-stars continued to defend both her and the series.
The cast has since returned for Season 2, which premiered Nov. 4. In fact, Watts and Paulson recently explained that the show is leaning even further into its over-the-top style.
For Kardashian, Murphy’s casting strategy appears to have done more than give her somewhere to hide. Her co-stars say they watched her become more confident in the role.
