Zac Affleck is now breaking his silence on his divorce from Jen Affleck.
On November 5, the TV personality turned to TikTok to speak directly to his followers. There, he shared his side of the story behind his soon-to-be ex-wife’s decision to end their marriage.
He started, “…It is true that Jen filed for divorce yesterday and it is true that I found out from a TMZ reporter about the filing. But regardless of that, this is something we’ve been talking about for a long time.”
The 30-year-old further revealed, “Jen came to me about a year ago after Dancing with the Stars and told me she was unhappy and wanted a divorce. And I basically begged her to stay, told her [I would] work on things, fix things, become whoever she needed me to be, and ultimately just we couldn’t make it work.”
Affleck admitted the breakup has been painful because his love for his estranged wife has not faded. He also took responsibility for his own faults in the marriage, explaining that they had reached a point where separating was the right move.
Additionally, the medical student shared that the pressure of a public marriage, combined with the demands of raising kids, took a toll over time. He admitted their spark slowly disappeared, but stressed that he remains Jen Affleck’s biggest supporter.
Speaking of their kids, Zac Affleck said that they come first for him. He expressed that he feels guilty and worries about how the divorce will affect them. He also noted that they are united in giving their kids the best life.
