Rhea Seehorn could not stop texting Vince Gilligan after reading Pluribus season 2’s first script. The actress teased an “insane” return for the Apple TV hit and revealed just how quickly the premiere hooked her.
Rhea Seehorn talks about Pluribus Season 2
Rhea Seehorn recently spoke with ScreenRant about her return for Pluribus season 2. The actress revealed she has read only the first script so far. She described the premiere episode’s story as completely unexpected.
Seehorn shared her immediate reaction to the season 2 opener. She told the outlet, “I just have the first script. That’s all I have, and it’s insane. I was texting Vince [Gilligan] about it by page 3. I was like, ‘What is happening?’” Her Stick Season 2 co-star Owen Wilson then chimed in. He said, “In a way, I feel like that’s telling a lot. I understand that it’s insane. You know that, by the first episode, it’s not going to be okay!” Seehorn added, “It’s insane! ‘Let’s just ease back in.’ Every page, I was like, ‘What is happening?’ So, I’m excited.”
The actress confirmed season 2 will not ease viewers back gradually. Instead, the premiere will match the high-stakes momentum of season 1’s finale. Pluribus season 1 ended with Carol Sturka learning an alarming truth. The Others had manipulated their virus to convert formerly immune people. Carol then had Zosia procure an atomic bomb in response. She also promised Manousos she would help him destroy the Others.
Pluribus season 2 is set to begin filming in Albuquerque this week. Apple TV greenlit the second season before the show even premiered. However, the writers’ room did not start until after the season 1 finale aired. Apple TV has not yet confirmed a release window for season 2.
Matt Cherniss, Apple TV’s Head of Programming, remained cautious about timing. He said he “doesn’t have a date yet on that one.” Season 1 filmed from February to September 2024 before premiering in November 2025. A similar timeline could place season 2’s premiere in late 2027 or early 2028. Seehorn will next appear in Stick season 2, premiering November 4.
