HGTV star Mina Starsiak Hawk shared a filming update for Rock the Block Season 8 on her Instagram Story. The Good Bones alum revealed the competition was about halfway done on November 5. “My body hurts. My fingers actually hurt,” Starsiak Hawk shared. “We were at the house last night until about 11. I got about five hours of sleep.”

“I’m heading back in, but it’s coming together really nicely,” she added. “We have a lot left to do, but I’m really, really excited for you guys all to see this season.” The HGTV personality described her Season 8 experience so far as a “roller coaster of emotions.” She also admitted to having “mixed feelings” about how things have played out.

Starsiak Hawk acknowledged she played it “a little bit safe” with her designs during Season 7. “This year has been a 2.0, coming out of my shell,” she said. “We’re using more color, being a little riskier.” She noted she was curious how everyone would react to the results.

Starsiak Hawk partners with Scott McGillivray, who also competed in Season 7. The cast films the new season in Nashville, Tennessee, over seven weeks. Brian and Mika Kleinschmidt, Paige Davis and Carter Oosterhouse, and Sabrina Soto and Anthony Carrino round out the Season 8 teams. Starsiak Hawk first competed on the show’s inaugural season in 2019.

“I’m back on The Block on @hgtv! Because the third time is the charm…. I hope,” she captioned an Instagram photo of the cast on October 6. Season 8 premieres in 2027. Starsiak Hawk shares two kids, Jack and Charlotte, with her husband, Steve Hawk. She previously called being away from her children during filming “super hard.”
