King Charles’ ‘True Colors’ Emerge in Six Words on Caribbean Tour — Expert

A royal expert touched upon King Charles‘ latest message on addressing the serious issues of slavery and colonialism during his Caribbean tour. She added that these remarks made the monarch’s stance clear on the matter while showcasing his willingness to find a solution. For those unversed, Charles is currently on a nine-day tour, stopping by the Bahamas, Guyana, and Antigua and Barbuda.

In a piece for the Express, royal editor Emily Ferguson said King Charles showed his “true colors” through his powerful message during his Caribbean tour. She noted that the monarch intended to directly address the issues of slavery and colonialism by acknowledging the significant injustices committed in the past.

She added, “This six-word remark left no room for questioning where the monarch stood on the matter and showed he was not going to shy away from the issue during his trip…such a statement reminds us just how skilled a diplomat he is.”

Her comments come after reports that the monarch would not apologize on behalf of the UK for its “colonial legacy and the intergenerational impact of the transatlantic slave trade in enslaved persons.”

A royal family spokesperson also praised the monarch for managing his numerous responsibilities. Speaking to GB News, they said, “Busy people get lots done. The King rigorously prioritizes his multiple roles, as Head of State, church, Commonwealth, military and family.” The spokesperson added that the King’s priorities change daily and often even hourly.

King Charles began his Caribbean tour without Queen Camilla by his side, making the Bahamas his first stop. The Queen later joined him in Antigua and Barbuda for the final leg of the trip. Camilla’s absence during the first half of the tour was reportedly linked to her fear of flying.
