Selma Blair has addressed her October airplane arrest, apologizing to people who were frightened by her behavior while saying she never intended to hurt anyone. The actress also explained why she had remained silent about the incident as her legal case continued.
Blair shared the message on Friday. She thanked her supporters and spoke about focusing on her health and her son, Arthur Saint Bleick, with her service dog, Scout, nearby.

“Not one day ever have I intended to hurt or frighten anyone a day in my life,” Blair said in her Instagram video. She apologized “to the people that I disappointed, that I hurt, that I frightened, alarmed.” Blair said her lawyers had advised her not to discuss the details while the case continued.
The incident occurred aboard a Delta flight before it reached JFK Airport. TMZ reported that Blair allegedly punched one flight attendant and bit another. One attendant suffered a laceration, while the other sustained a bite. Crew members restrained Blair, and officers arrested her after the plane landed. Eyewitness audio captured Blair screaming as she exited the aircraft.
Authorities also alleged that Blair kicked a Port Authority police officer in the head inside an ambulance. At the hospital, she allegedly assaulted a nurse. The state charged her with two felony counts of second-degree assault involving the officer and nurse. Blair pleaded not guilty, and her next court date is scheduled for January 19, 2027.
The FBI also issued Blair a federal summons for “assault within the special maritime and territorial jurisdiction of the United States,” according to law enforcement sources cited by the outlet. Dispatch audio mentioned a bloody nose and bite marks. One flight attendant went to the hospital, while officers said Blair struck her head against a bulkhead.
Blair’s representative told the outlet, “Selma experienced a medical emergency that led to the alleged conduct.” The representative said she received care after landing and remained stable. Delta told the outlet, “Delta has zero tolerance for unruly or unlawful behavior, as the safety of our customers and crew always comes first.”
The incident follows a 2016 flight outburst involving Blair, when responders removed her from a plane by stretcher. Earlier in October, she attended an Anti-Defamation League event. Her acting credits include Cruel Intentions, Legally Blonde, The Sweetest Thing and the Hellboy films.
