‘We Ache for Her:’ Savannah Guthrie Shares New Plea for Missing Mom Amid Investigation

As the search for Nancy Guthrie enters its tenth month, her daughter, Savannah Guthrie, is continuing to ask the public for information that could help bring her mother home. The 84-year-old has been missing from her Tucson-area home since she was last seen on the evening of January 31.

Savannah Guthrie makes heartbreaking plea for missing mom Nancy in new post

In her Instagram post, Savannah shared a drawing created by her young daughter. The picture featured an umbrella and raindrops alongside the words, “I know it might not seem like it, but I really need my mommy.”

Alongside the drawing, the post’s caption read, “The world goes on; things appear ‘normal’ – as we try to keep going and be strong, especially for our young kids – but it’s not, and it never will be.”

The Today show anchor continued, “For Annie and Tommy, for Cam and Kristine, for Mike and me and for all of mom’s beloved grandchildren: we ache for her, we cry out for answers, we cannot move forward. We need someone to help us, tell us what you know. Our mom was a light in this world. We want to celebrate her and give her the dignity she deserves. The reward is still available. Please. We are begging you. Please help us.”

The post came shortly after the Pima County Sheriff’s Office shared an update on the ongoing investigation. The department said, “Earlier this month, investigators traveled to Florida to meet with lab scientists to see what more could be done to advance the case. A number of ideas were discussed, and we continue to work with all of our partners to solve this case.”

The department also urged anyone with information to come forward, stressing that even a small detail could help investigators. The FBI continues to seek information about Guthrie’s disappearance. Moreover, their current missing-person materials list a reward of up to $50,000 for information leading to her recovery and/or the arrest and conviction of anyone involved.

Nancy was last seen at her residence in the Catalina Foothills neighborhood of Tucson on the evening of January 31. The FBI previously released footage showing an armed individual. It appeared to tamper with a camera at her front door on the morning of her disappearance.

Authorities have continued investigating the case, but Nancy’s whereabouts remain unknown. Anyone with information can contact the FBI at 1-800-CALL-FBI or submit a tip through the FBI’s online tip system.
