Former White House Press Secretary Just Started New Role on Fox News

A familiar face from Donald Trump’s second administration has landed a television gig. Fox News announced that it has signed a former White House press secretary as an on-air contributor, with the new role starting on November 1.

Karoline Leavitt just joined Fox News

Fox News has hired Karoline Leavitt as a contributor, CEO Suzanne Scott announced in early October. Leavitt resigned as White House press secretary in August after welcoming her second child in May this year. She became the youngest person ever to hold the press secretary post and now brings that experience to the outlet’s viewers.

Scott framed the hire around expertise. “Karoline’s firsthand experience in the White House and on the presidential campaign trail gives her a distinct understanding of today’s political landscape,” Scott said, adding that the network expects “authentic and sharp insight” from her across its platforms. Leavitt accepted the role with enthusiasm. “I am grateful for the opportunity to continue appearing on FOX News Channel as an official member of the extraordinary team at FOX News Media,” she said. She pledged to deliver “the same energy and candor that defined my tenure” to Fox’s audience.

The move mirrors a well-worn path. Sarah Huckabee Sanders and Kayleigh McEnany, both press secretaries during Trump’s first term, also joined Fox News after leaving the White House. Leavitt’s hiring fits that pattern and gives the network another voice with direct campaign and administration experience. After all, Leavitt built a combative reputation in the briefing room. She tightened control over the press pool, reserved a briefing room seat for “new media” figures, and sparred often with reporters. Trump frequently praised her performance, and she remained one of his most loyal defenders throughout her tenure.

Before the White House, Karoline Leavitt worked as national press secretary for Trump’s 2024 campaign. She ran for Congress in New Hampshire’s 1st District in 2022, served as communications director for Rep. Elise Stefanik, and held roles as a presidential writer and assistant press secretary during Trump’s first administration.
