According to a royal expert, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s return to the U.K. may not guarantee a reconciliation with William and Kate. Their comeback may, however, boost Markle’s public image.
Meghan Markle’s fresh start in the UK doesn’t guarantee Waleses reunion, per expert
According to the Express, the couple has taken on several public appearance commitments, including their recent visit to Nottingham. Here, they met members of the public, visited a food bank and supported a charity helping young people affected by violence. However, their return may not translate to improved relations with the royal family.
Reflecting on the Sussexes’ Nottingham visit, the expert said, “Nottingham felt like the Sussexes pressing the reset button. They’re reminding people of the good they can do rather than the controversies that have dominated their story. It’s a clever move, but consistency will be key to their success.”
Nick said, “A warm reception doesn’t mean a royal reunion is around the corner. I think we’ll see a private family reconciliation with Charles and Camilla long before we ever see the Fab Four together again. I don’t think William and Kate will ever forgive them.”
The rift between the brothers began in 2020 when Harry and Meghan decided to give up their royal duties and moved to California to raise their children. Their public criticism of the royal family, including explosive claims in Harry’s memoir, “Spare,” has put further strain on their relationship.
With a full-fledged reunion not on the cards, Nick believes that Meghan may use the opportunity to rebuild her public image. The expert shared, “Meghan has an opportunity to reclaim her place in Britain without needing the Palace. She’s a different woman from the one who arrived in 2017, and this could be the start of a new chapter if she does it well.”
Harry has shown interest in reconciling with his brother and King Charles. While the latter has been possible, the Waleses have shown no interest in meeting them.
