King Charles might reportedly offer support to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle in private amid Thomas Markle Sr.’s ongoing scandal.
Royal broadcaster Ian Pelham Turner told Fox News Digital that the King might reach out to the Sussexes in a private capacity, but he will not comment on the matter publicly.
Turner stated categorically: “He cannot publicly be seen to be doing anything at all. Neither can any of the members of the royal family because of this potential investigation.”
British royal expert Hilary Fordwich echoed Turner’s comments and reiterated that the royal family would not want to associate itself with such an appalling controversy. Fordwich explained that it is “extremely unlikely” that the royal family will issue any statement. The royals will focus on their duties while the investigation continues. “Institutional distancing is more than likely,” the royal expert added.
Interestingly, Kinsey Schofield revealed to the outlet that the King might approach the Sussexes but with caution. Schofield explained that as a father, Charles might feel the need to reach out to his younger son. However, Harry and Meghan have repeatedly crushed the royal family’s trust by making bombshell allegations in the media and in interviews.
The King would possibly need reassurance from the Sussexes that their private conversation would not be revealed to the public. Additionally, Schofield has stated that she does not expect Prince William or Kate Middleton to get involved in Harry and Meghan’s matters. This is not their fight, and the palace has already made it clear that the Sussexes are private citizens in the UK.
