Reports suggest that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are uneasy about an upcoming film centered on Queen Elizabeth II‘s trusted confidante and longtime wardrobe adviser. Sources claim the couple fears the project could revive past tensions and bring private moments from their time as working royals into the public eye.
According to RadarOnline.com, an upcoming screen project may portray Angela Kelly, who spent decades as the late monarch’s trusted dresser and close confidante. The 68-year-old previously clashed with Meghan Markle over her bridal tiara ahead of the May 2018 wedding to Prince Harry at Windsor Castle.
One account claimed that the late Queen’s trusted aide was simply enforcing strict security and handling protocols before releasing the tiara for the royal wedding. The Duke, however, offered a starkly contrasting take on her behavior. Giving his version of events, the 42-year-old in his memoir “Spare” accused Kelly of stalling the arrangements to loan the heirloom and painted her as uncooperative.
Speaking anonymously to RadarOnline, a purported palace insider claimed, “The prospect of Angela finally getting the opportunity to tell her side of the story is potentially very uncomfortable for Harry and Meghan, particularly given how publicly Harry criticized her in Spare. The pair of them are now in fear she will expose secrets of their time behind palace doors.”
The insider further explained that if Angela Kelly joins the production, audiences may hear a very different account of the couple’s most contentious royal moments. That prospect alone is causing them serious unease.
They added, “What’s particularly unsettling about this whole situation is that nobody seems to know precisely what filmmakers are planning to include or how much Angela might be prepared to discuss.”
