Amanda Batula reportedly cites online bullying after leaving In the City
According to a report from Reality Blurb, Amanda allegedly sent a direct message to Thea de Sousa of the fan account Your Moms Are Watching. The message reportedly addressed her decision not to return for Season 2. Several other cast members will also reportedly leave the Summer House spinoff.
“The continued hate from fan accounts and the internet is a huge reason why I decided I wasn’t ready to film again and put myself back out there,” the alleged message stated. It reportedly appeared on October 29.
The alleged DM also described the intensity of the criticism she received. “The bullying has been [too] intense,” the message reportedly continued. It questioned why anyone would expose their personal life to constant public judgment.
Amanda has faced substantial online criticism over her relationship with West Wilson. Their romance reportedly began weeks after she announced her split from estranged husband Kyle Cooke. The situation also drew attention because West previously dated Amanda’s close friend, Ciara Miller.
Reactions to the alleged message were divided across social media. Some called for accountability, with one commenter saying, “Some real accountability would go a long way.” Others questioned why she would leave the show rather than address the controversy on camera.
Several critics also recalled Amanda’s past comments about the Vanderpump Rules scandal involving Rachel Leviss and Tom Sandoval. Other fans defended Amanda and questioned the level of hostility directed toward her.
News of Amanda’s departure from In the City was reported earlier. Danielle Olivera, Eoin Heavey, Andrea Denver, and Lexi Sundin were also reportedly not returning. The alleged message has since fueled further discussion about online backlash and its impact on reality television stars.
