Bryan Adams Mocks Donald Trump With a Scathing New Protest Song

Bryan Adams has once again taken aim at Donald Trump through his music. The Canadian rocker has released a new song taking aim at the president. This time, Adams addresses the ongoing dispute between Canada and the United States over Lake Ontario’s name.

Bryan Adams references Epstein files in Donald Trump protest song ‘Lake Ontario’

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Adams released “Lake Ontario” from his upcoming album, How’s It Goin’. The song criticizes Trump without mentioning him by name. Its lyrics reference political distractions, the Epstein files, and Trump’s attempt to rename Lake Ontario.

The music video features Adams standing on a giant rock beside Lake Ontario. Trump previously ordered the body of water renamed Lake America amid trade tensions with Canada. Adams challenges the decision by highlighting the lake’s Indigenous history in his lyrics.

“The lake of shining waters is what the Iroquois called her,” Adams sings. He follows with, “It’s the First Nations name, not an executive order.” The lyrics reject the idea that a presidential directive can erase the region’s history.

Adams also uses the song to criticize Trump’s handling of international affairs. “Things weren’t going his way in Iran,” he sings. The track then compares the president’s response to a child throwing toys.

The song’s sharpest political references concern the Epstein files. Adams sings, “But it feels like another distraction,” before mentioning the documents. He adds, “One day they’ll come out and we’ll say ‘There you go.’”

The singer closes that passage by inviting listeners to dive into Lake Ontario. The lyrics suggest that the dispute over the lake’s name serves as a distraction from other political controversies. However, the song presents Adams’ criticism rather than establishing wrongdoing by Trump.

On his official website, Adams explained the message behind the release. “Empires and regimes, dictators and kings, they all come and go,” he wrote. He then declared, “Lake Ontario is forever.”

Adams described the track as a response to people seeking to rename the historic lake. He called it a song for “all the sane people on both shores.” He also expressed confidence that the current political turmoil would eventually pass.

“Lake Ontario” follows Adams’ earlier protest song, “51st State,” released on Canada Day in July 2026. The track responded to Trump’s repeated remarks about making Canada America’s 51st state. How’s It Goin’ is scheduled for release on November 6 through BAD Records.
