Barack Obama’s Georgia Rally Dwarfs Donald Trump’s Ohio Venue in Crowd Contrast

Barack Obama‘s recent Georgia rally appears to have drawn a larger crowd than Donald Trump‘s Ohio rally. The former US President was in Georgia to support Jon Ossoff and Keisha Lance-Bottoms. Meanwhile, Trump has been moving across the country to support GOP candidates as midterms draw closer.

Georgia and Ohio hosted contrasting campaign events on the same night

Barack Obama recently held a rally in Georgia to support Democrat Jon Ossoff, who is running for Senate re-election, and Keisha Lance-Bottoms, who is running for governor of Georgia. However, social media users noticed the contrast between the crowd at his rally and the crowd at Donald Trump’s latest Ohio rally.

Trump’s Ohio rally drew major attention after he criticized MAGA candidate Senator Jon Husted. However, NBC News White House correspondent Garrett Haake shared a photo of the venue with barely any visible crowd on X. Haake wrote, “I’ve covered dozens if not hundreds of Trump rallies and I can’t recall him ever holding one in a room as small as this arena in Chillicothe, Ohio. It’ll be packed and loud- but maybe 1000 people will fit.”

In comparison, a photo of Obama’s rally at The Arena in Southlake, Morrow shows a large crowd at the venue, which has a capacity of 8,000. HuffPost White House correspondent S.V. Dáte shared the images and pointed out the difference, writing, “The contrast tonight: Trump appearing in Ohio, about 2,500-3,000 attendees. Obama appearing in Georgia, about 8,000.”

Obama also posted photos from the rally showcasing a packed venue and wrote, “Georgia, I hope you’re fired up and ready to vote for @KeishaBottoms for Governor and send Jon @Ossoff back to the U.S. Senate. Jon and Keisha will fight for you, and they’ve got real plans to build a better Georgia.”

However, Trump’s administration also pushed back against claims of low turnout at his Ohio rally and called out Haake in a post on X. They shared images of the venue filled with people and called Haake a “clown,” claiming he posted images of the venue 4 hours before Trump’s arrival.
