Kim Kardashian reportedly experienced a frightening incident during a 2018 trip to Uganda with her then-husband, Kanye West. A new biography claims that a police officer held a gun to the reality star’s head during the visit. The account comes from a former producer who worked closely with the couple and witnessed tensions in their relationship.
The 2018 incident involving Kanye West is recounted in the new biography Citizen Kim
Journalist Jonathan Van Meter details the alleged incident in his new book, Citizen Kim: The Woman Who Created the Future, released on October 27. The author recounts how executive producer Farnaz Farjam witnessed growing tensions between Kardashian and West during their Uganda trip.
According to Farjam, West became “paranoid and agitated” while the crew filmed at a remote location. She claimed that he believed someone was planning to drug him, prompting him to contact local police.
“He basically got the local police to believe that there were people trying to drug him, and so they came and they had guns out,” Farjam recalled.
She said the officers then searched everyone’s rooms. The situation reportedly escalated when one officer held a gun to Kardashian’s head, according to Van Meter’s account.
Farjam described the experience as “intense” and revealed that she eventually arranged a private jet to help her crew leave the area.
Van Meter also writes that Farjam later forgave West for what she described as the “Africa fiasco.” She attributed his behavior to his bipolar disorder, saying he “was in a manic place” at the time.
Kardashian and West married in 2014 and finalized their divorce in 2022. The former couple shares four children: North, Saint, Chicago, and Psalm.
The revelations in Citizen Kim offer another perspective on the difficulties the former couple reportedly faced during their marriage. Farjam’s account also highlights how their 2018 trip to Uganda allegedly became a frightening experience for Kardashian and the production crew.
