King Charles III burst into laughter when he spotted a T-shirt featuring a muscular, boxing-inspired version of himself during the second day of his visit to the Bahamas. He also received a T-shirt of his own from a boxing trainer and student sporting the funny look. The King visited the Bahamas Boxing Academy to meet young athletes, watch training sessions, and learn how the facility supports children through sport and education.
King Charles sees himself as a boxer on a T-shirt and can’t contain his laughter
King Charles could not hide his amusement when he spotted the unusual design on a black T-shirt presented to him at the Bahamas Boxing Academy in the Yellow Elder district of New Providence. The shirt featured an illustration of the king in a boxing stance, wearing purple boxing shorts, a vest and gloves, with a crown on his head. The exaggerated design gave Charles a muscular makeover.
Charles visited the academy alongside Bahamas Prime Minister Philip Davis and the country’s sports minister, Mario Bowleg. During the visit, he met young boxers and their trainers, including 12-year-old Sanai Miller and his coach, Jermaine Gibson, from the All Out Boxing Club.
When Charles spotted the matching T-shirts worn by Gibson and Miller, he pointed at the design and laughed. Gibson explained that he had arranged a special shirt for the king, telling him, “We made one for you; I had it made last night.” Charles accepted the gift and continued laughing. “How generous,” he replied. After the exchange, Gibson shared his reaction to the king’s response, saying, “We gave him one of his own; he said it was really good.”
The visit also highlighted the Bahamas Boxing Academy, which opened in April 2026 at the Queen Elizabeth sporting complex on New Providence. The facility aims to help young Bahamians develop their skills through boxing, mentoring, and education. It combines athletic training with guidance to help young people build confidence and explore opportunities beyond the ring.
