Meghan Markle‘s upcoming appearance on MasterChef Australia could be more than just a guest. MasterChef judge Poh Ling Yeow revealed the Duchess of Sussex would be co-hosting the entire season with her.
Poh Ling Yeow confirms Meghan Markle will be co-hosting MasterChef show for the entire season
Poh Ling Yeow, while talking to Pedestrian TV, revealed Meghan Markle would co-host MasterChef with her. Yeow said, “She is co-hosting. So, I think a lot of people think she is just coming on for one appearance, but she is going to be on with me the entire season.”
Yeow also shared that she and Markle have yet to have a conversation. She said, “We haven’t spoken yet, but I know we will. I do not have Meghan Markle’s number. Sorry to disappoint you.”
Markle is set to join Junior MasterChef Australia as co-host in 2027. She previously appeared on MasterChef as a guest judge in 2026. During her visit, there were rumors of Markle and Yeow’s clash. Markle reportedly requested not to use her royal titles on the show, while Yeow mistakenly addressed her as Duchess. However, Yeow defended Markle from extensive backlash following the rumors.
Yeow added, “It’s all new for everyone. I think I just wanted to get upfronts done. And you know like a cat got out of the bag because isn’t gonna be my mic drop moment today, people. But we still kind of did it.”
Markle shared her excitement following the news in an official statement.
She said, “I had an incredible time with the whole team at MasterChef this past April, so when they approached me to come back and work with this young group of talent, it was an easy yes. I love cooking with my own kids, so seeing what these young stars create in the kitchen is going to be a lot of fun. I can’t wait to see what they cook up.” (via Hello Magazine)
Filming for Junior MasterChef Australia is scheduled to start in 2027 in Melbourne. However, there’s no information on whether her children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, would join on the show.
