Halle Berry’s Controversial Instagram Post May Not Be What It Seems — Source

Halle Berry has attracted renewed attention after a cryptic message appeared on her Instagram Story. The post referenced mothers and children shortly before her latest custody hearing. However, sources close to the actress claim that she did not publish the message herself.

Halle Berry’s team suspects Instagram hack amid Olivier Martinez custody battle

According to TMZ, sources close to Berry denied that she shared the post. The message appeared Monday night, October 26, amid her ongoing legal dispute with Olivier Martinez. Her team is reportedly investigating how the message ended up on her account.

The deleted Halle Berry Instagram Story read, “If kids disrespect their mom, the root cause often traces back to their relationship with the father.” Its timing drew attention because the former couple is currently fighting over custody. The dispute concerns their 13-year-old son, Maceo.

Martinez is seeking a domestic violence restraining order and sole custody of their son. He alleges Berry choked Maceo during an argument over a virtual reality headset on September 26. Berry denies the allegation and has described the incident as roughhousing.

The custody dispute has led to several court hearings in Los Angeles. Martinez reportedly obtained a temporary restraining order and temporary primary custody on October 1. Berry is seeking to restore their previous joint custody arrangement and lift the restrictions on her parenting time.

The actress’s older daughter, Nahla Aubry, also testified during the proceedings. Berry shares Nahla with Canadian model Gabriel Aubry. According to Complex, Nahla stated that she had never witnessed her mother physically abusing Maceo.

“I have never seen my mom hit, slap, choke, grab, or physically abuse Maceo in any way,” Nahla reportedly testified. She also denied seeing Berry put her hands around Maceo’s neck. Her testimony addressed Martinez’s allegations against Berry.

Meanwhile, Berry has accused Martinez of undermining her relationship with their son. The former couple married in 2013 and were declared legally single in 2016. However, their divorce proceedings were not finalized until 2023. Their current court battle has brought their co-parenting disagreements into public view.

The suspected Instagram account breach has added another complication to the ongoing custody dispute. Meanwhile, the court continues to consider the allegations and custody arrangements involving Maceo.
