Danielle Harris documentary explores her traumatic life experiences

Deranged Minds Entertainment has announced a feature-length documentary about Harris, who appeared in four Halloween films. The team spent three years filming the project, which will explore her life and career. According to Variety, the film’s official description says Harris faced major challenges while growing up and working in Hollywood. The documentary will feature archival footage, private home videos and interviews with Harris, her family, friends and collaborators.

The documentary’s official description details several painful experiences in Harris’s life. It says her father died in an unsolved car accident, while she later lost a famous partner and a close friend to suicide. The description also says Harris experienced a stalker who followed her for 20 years. It further claims that a pregnancy complication caused her heart to stop.

Director and producer Destinie Orndoff said the documentary will show a side of Harris that audiences rarely see. “People think they know Danielle because they grew up watching her,” Orndoff said in a statement. “They’ve seen the performances. They’ve never seen what it cost her, and Danielle didn’t hold anything back.”

Co-director and producer Tristan Clay also reflected on the experience of filming the project. “I can’t wait for audiences to see this side of her,” Clay said.

The film is currently in post-production and is scheduled to screen at festivals in 2027. The documentary will give fans a closer look at Harris’s life and career beyond the horror roles that made her a familiar face to genre audiences.
