Kate Middleton shared an emotional update about her elder son, Prince George, as he adjusts to boarding school at Eton College. The Princess of Wales shared a heartfelt admission during her visit to Café 98.
Kate Middleton says she misses Prince George after he started boarding at Eton College
Kate Middleton visited Café 98 in Hoveton as a patron of East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH). While interacting with the shoppers at the charity-run cafe, she revealed she misses her elder son.
Denise Ashton, 68, who met Middleton at the cafe, told the media, “She said she’s looking forward to George coming home – she’s missed him. They may be going somewhere [during the break].”
At the cafe, a young child also interacted with Middleton and told her that it was his last day of school before half-term break. According to Hello Magazine, Middleton replied, “My children break up tomorrow, and I can’t wait to have them all home.”
Apart from Middleton’s visit to Hoveton, she oversaw The Treehouse’s new expansion project as construction is ongoing.
Prince George has been at Eton College for over a month now. He is reportedly meeting new classmates, friends, and learning new rules. He has previously studied at a part-time boarding school; this marks his first full-time boarding at the age of 13.
The boarding life at Eton College differs from his royal lifestyle, as George adjusts to living alongside other students. The college website read, “From the very beginning, each boy has his own study-bedroom: there are no shared rooms. Boys thus have their own private space and are required to organise themselves and to develop self-discipline in meeting tasks and deadlines.”
Eton College had an official break from Friday until 9 November. Prince George is likely to spend Halloween and Bonfire Night with the royal family. The royal family is making headlines for their alleged holiday season plans following the return of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry to the U.K.
